On May 27, 2022, students from the Norwich Free Academy gathered at Leffingwell House Museum for a Witness Stone installation and presentations in honor of Romeo, an enslaved individual from Norwich who aided in the Long Island evacuation in 1778.

The Norwich Free Academy will bring the community together to remember and honor Romeo and to place a Witness Stone in his memory.
