CT 127 – Lidia

Lidia was born in 1745. In 1746, at the age of one, she was given by the Northrop family to the Sailor family. We believe her father was Quash, her mother was Dinah, and her siblings were Peter and Anne. In 1774, she was sold from the Sailor family to the Keeler family. At the time, there were 35 people enslaved in Ridgefield. Eventually, she was enslaved by Hannah Keeler, a widow. By 1818, it seems that Hannah did not have enough money to continue to enslave Lidia. On April 13, 1818, Lidia was emancipated.
