Location: 33 Whitfield Street, Guilford, Connecticut

Jouachim, aka John, was brought to Guilford from Guadeloupe in the 1790s by Nicolas Loysel. On June 26, 1794, the enslaver Loysel sold him to Dr. Thomas Pynchon, who lived on Whitfield Street. Jouachim was held in bondage on this site. He was emancipated in 1796.
