CT 24 – Dinah

Dinah was born in 1710. She was enslaved by the widow Abigail Woodbridge. She was baptized in 1736 in the First Church Hartford. Woodbridge enslaved eight other people. When Woodbridge died, Dinah was sold to John and Jerusha Lord Whiting who lived on North Main Street near when Hall High School is today. She had at least one daughter, also named Dinah, was born around 1755.  Dinah died in 1760, at the age of 50. Her daughter was freed in 1790.
